Early Intervention are services and supports that are available for families with children birth up to the age of 3 with developmental delays and disabilities and certain medical diagnoses that may impact development.

Infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months of age may be eligible for early intervention services based on your child’s skills and abilities.

There is no cost.  ALL services are FREE including a screening or evaluation for all New Mexico families. TOTS is state and federally funded by New Mexico Family Infant Toddler Program, NMFIT.

No. Anyone familiar with the child can refer Parents, Family members, Dr., WIC, etc. By FAX, Phone, website or in person.

Services are based on the individual needs and concerns of the family and child. Though most services are provided in a child’s home this may include other places where the child regularly goes such as daycare, babysitters, other family member’s home, park, library, and other community settings.

Based on the child’s developmental needs and family concerns and priorities and the child’s Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), services may include:

• Special Development instruction
• Family training and counseling
• Social Work
• Service coordination
• Assistive technology
• Audiology
• Vision services
• Infant massage
